1936 International 1958 Dodge Rat Rod

This awesome Rat Rod is a stitching of a 1936 International pick up truck and the tail fins of a 1958 Dodge Coronet. It is a rat rod race car that has a chopped truck body and a truck bed made with the Dodge Coronet quarter panels.

It was built by Chris Watkins of CNA Performance in Kansas City, Kansas. The tube chassis is a custom made and NHRA approved. This Rat Rod is really nicely fabricated. Chris called his creation the “Custom Speed Express”.

The Dodge lineup was refreshed for the 1958 model year and the Coronet was the base model with little chrome and no teeth at the front. The 1936 International is a model C-55 and rated at 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 tons. It was originally equipped with a six cylinder engine but not anymore.

1936 International 1958 Dodge Coronet

International (I. H. C.) – International Harvester Co. Chicago, Ill. 1907, International Harvester Co. Akron, Ohio 1907-1911 and International Harvester Co. Chicago, Ill. 1961 to date. In 1958 Dodge produced the Coronet, Royal Custom royal and several station wagons. The Coronet was equipped with a 138 horsepower 6 cylinder and 252 horsepower V-8 engines. Coronet came as a Club Sedan, Lancer and 4 door sedan. About 70,000 Coronet were made by Dodge in 1958.
